Estates That Educate Childrens Logo_edited.png

Estates That Educate is our exciting program that allows you to learn more, first hand directly from the grassroots, about life on the moors delivered to you by the boots on the ground themselves!

Here you will learn a little about the work sporting estates and their staff undertake in our countryside, both in your local region and Scotland as a whole. This work has a positive impact on local communities and businesses and benefits the conservation of rare species and heather moorlands.

From a day trip with your class or Primary School as a whole to a more in-depth weekly program for High School ages, encompassing the Pathways to Rural Workforce alongside our friends at Countryside Learning Scotland, we have an estate visit perfect for you!

We are very proud to announce that this year we are sponsored by

The British Association for Shooting & Conservation

Estates That Educate
Young Ambassador - Hayley Macdonald

Meet Hayley Macdonald, our first Young Ambassador for ‘Estates That Educate’!

"Hayley is an incredible inspiration to us all. She has not stopped since the first moment she was introduced to the upland flock, even getting a part-time job to pursue her dream. The shepherds and gamekeepers are delighted to share their love of nature and their skills with children across Scotland as often young people just don’t know about the rural careers practically on their doorstep.”

Hayley MacDonald said: “I am thrilled to be a Young Ambassador for Estates That Educate and I look forward to helping in any way that I can. I love lambs and sheep and I think other children could also benefit from learning about the countryside around them.”
