Game for Giving Poster FINAL.jpg

Game for Giving is an initiative first set up by both the Angus Glens and Grampian Moorland Groups and now can be seen nationwide across our Moorland Groups. We work with local butchers and chefs to create oven-ready meals using fresh Game and ingredients that we donate to local charities in the communities from Aberdeen to Dundee throughout the season.

The initiative was set up in 2016 to help those less fortunate around the Christmas period. However, due to its success more charities got in touch and we decided to run the project throughout the season.

We supply to homeless charities such as Cyrenians and Community Food Initiatives North East (CFINE), as well as working with a number of voluntary charities in our small local towns, such as Home Start and Voluntary Action Angus.

We supply families with oven-ready game and simple-to-follow recipe cards, so they can try the products themselves at home.

We have also hosted Game from the Glens evenings, where we have invited numerous members of the public, from local butchers, hoteliers, farm shops, politicians and general members of the public who are interested in trying Game and learning how to cook and prepare it.

We also do cooking demonstrations with top chefs and Game tastings. We also had free oven-ready game for people to help themselves to and take home, with recipe cards. The aim was to get Game onto more local menus and shop shelves.
