Estates That Educate on Tour!

Over the weekend we visited Fingask Castle where we supported the GWCT for the prize giving of their art competition that was issued to primary and secondary schools within the Aberdeenshire, Angus & Tayside regions this year. This annual competition is always a great success with some excellent entries and we are proud to be a sponsor of it, offering our ‘Estates That Educate’ visits as a prize to the winners for their entire class or school!

The event this year held a variety of mini-workshops from art to falconry and we were delighted to give a taster of what we offer on our visits. One of our resident shepherdesses kindly brought along some of her sheep and well-trained collies to talk about her work on the hill, our keepers covered Muirburn and its importance whilst showcasing the equipment used. And of course, we had our working dogs for the kids to meet and some Pheasant and Partridge for the kids to get hands-on with plucking and breasting to take home to eat!

A great day and it was lovely to meet so many enthusiastic families! Congratulations to all the entrants and the winners who we look forward to meeting in the Spring for #ETE23.
